This security note summarises the published information about several vulnerabilities in the WPA2 protocol that is used to secure Wi-Fi communications. The name “KRACK” comes from the technique used to describe the attack which is called a “Key Reinstallation AttaCK”. The attack is launched against the Wi-Fi client, and allows the attacker to decrypt the communication, and steal sensitive information such as access credentials and passwords.
