This paper examines the issue of how the extra complexity of 5G network slice management can be managed. It explores how a network slice, which comprises virtual and physical network functions, cloud resources, connectivity, augmented services, as well as application functions can be orchestrated to form a service-specific virtual network. With this service-specific virtual network, enabled by Nokia solutions, digital service providers can meet service requirements, such as latency, reliability, coverage and security in addition to capacity and cost targets relative to 5G slicing the same way as for other network services.
